 Overview of Course

The SFST Refresher Training Program is for people who have previously completed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and International Association of Chiefs of Police approved Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Training.  The purpose of the refresher training is to review the administration and interpretation of the SFST battery.  The goal of the program is to improve the overall consistency of how the SFST test battery is administered by individual police officer or other persons trained in the SFST battery.

The program allows persons and others to refresh their skills at recognizing and interpreting evidence of DWI; administering and interpreting the scientifically validated sobriety tests; and describing DWI evidence clearly and convincingly.  The program provides a review of note-taking procedures and the trial preparation and testimony process.  It also provides updated information regarding recent case law and research studies.

 
THIS PROGRAM IS INTENDED FOR THE PURPOSES OF REFRESHER TRAINING ONLY.  THIS PROGRAM IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR NHTSA/IACP APPROVED DWI DETECTION AND STANDARDIZED FIELD SOBRIETY TESTING TRAINING.
 
Tuition:  $275.00 which includes SFST Refresher Training Student Manual, Certificate of Completion, continental breakfast, with afternoon refreshment.

Course Details:  The NHSTA/IACP SFST Refresher Training Course complies with NHTSA/IACP guidelines relating to curriculum, and required hours of practical and demonstrative use of NHTSA/IACP materials.  Class size is limited to 25 Students. First come first serve.

Hotel Information: Courtyard Nashville Downtown, 170 Fourth Avenue North, Nashville, Tennessee 37219, has made rooms available at a discounted rate of $109 a night single/double occupancy, plus tax.  Reservations must be made by June 14, 2004.  After June 14, 2004 overnight accommodations are based on availability at the prevailing rate.  Reservations can be made by calling 1-888-687-9377 and ask for the La Pier & Associates, LLC room block.

The class will be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
